The HHST4004 Environmental Cell Single Tilt Heating Holder permits a specimen to be exposed to a gas or vacuum environment, heated (in the cell) and then transferred into the TEM without exposure to atmospere. Alternatively, a specimen may be transferred from an external preparation station1 to the TEM under vacuum or gas environment.

Gas reactions may be undertaken at elevated temperatures in the environmental cell
Specimen securing mechanism

Clamping ring screws into the specimen cradle to maintain excellent contact between the specimen holder and the specimen grid
Temperature range

+20 ºC to approximately +700 ºC (in cell) with environmental gas reaction chamber
Maximum temperature dependant upon the partial pressure of the gasses used
System package

Includes temperature controller, protective sleeve with pump-out fitting, pump-out tool, holder loading stand, clamping rings and clamping ring tools
Tilt ranges and compatibility of specimen holders vary according to the TEM manufacturer, model, pole piece gap, and the presence of in-gap accessories. Please contact your local Gatan representative for more information and regarding specific gas reactions required.
